Nawaz Sharif faces backlash in Pakistan over Mumbai's 26/11 attack

By admitting that terrorists from his country were responsible for the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, Pakistan's former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif may have stated the obvious, something that the entire world knows.

There have been several reports of divisions among the Sharif brothers, with Nawaz having adopted a hard stance against state institutions following his ouster and Shehbaz calling for restraint and unity.

Imran Khan, chairperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf attacked Nawaz Sharif a day after ousted prime minister tacitly admitted to Pakistan "militants" being behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

In an interview with the daily Dawn on Saturday, Mr. Sharif said militant organisations were active in Pakistan.

"Sharif's order to withdraw from Kargil was a wrong initiative", the ex-president said and added PML-N leader Zafarul Haq and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat had opposed the withdrawal.

"Who led Pakistan towards isolation and has brought the country to a stage where the worldwide community is not ready to accept Pakistan's narrative?"
