Facebook Plans To Let Everyone Unsend Messages, Will Stop Zuckerberg Until Then

1.1M Filipinos among 87M Facebook profiles illegally obtained in Cambridge Analytica scandal

Besides this, the social media platform also made several changes to its settings in attempt to better protect user privacy.

Facebook is now apologizing for its latest mess, claiming that it's discussed this ability within its circles many times. "This may take some time", a Facebook spokeswoman wrote in an email to Bloomberg. The political consulting firm took advantage of a feature that was readily available. Under the "Secret" conversation option, users can send messages that will expire after a pre-defined time.

This new "unsend" feature hasn't been finalized on how it will exactly work, according to TechCrunch, but one possible solution is that a timer can be set by the sender, and once the timer runs out, the message will disappear from both inboxes.

Similarly, the Facebook chief seemed at one point to favor regulation for Facebook and other internet giants - at least the "right" kind of rules, he said, such as ones that require online political ads to disclose who paid for them.

Facebook did not provide any additional clarity when asked by CNN, but said it was working on the authorization process and plan to roll it out later this year. But after downloading the Facebook archive data and searching for the same message, users reported that they couldn't find the message from Zuckerberg and reported them as missing.

U.S. refutes reports of attack on Syrian airbase
The Russian Foreign Ministry warned against military action on the basis of "invented and fabricated excuses". It said the other three landed in the western part of the T4 base.

Moscow has denied the allegations.

Facebook disclosed in September that Russians under fake names had used the social network to try to influence USA voters in the months before and after the 2016 election, writing about inflammatory subjects, setting up events and buying ads.

The ads will be put into a searchable database, which will be released in June.

"Today's updates are created to prevent future abuse in elections", said Facebook ad executives Rob Goldman and Alex Himel in a separate post.

That legislation was introduced last October to counter concerns about foreign nationals using social media to influence American politics, an issue being looked at as part of an investigation into possible Russian meddling during the 2016 US presidential campaign.

Facebook CEO Zuckerberg will testify before USA congress April 11
The recipients of Zuckerberg's messages weren't informed before that happened. London-based Cambridge Analytica, which has counted U.S.

The legislation would also require online platforms to make "all reasonable efforts" to ensure that foreign nationals and entities are not buying political ads to influence the USA electorate.

While I understand that a large function of this is attributable to the fact that Facebook is still nailing down details on this I would like to request clarification on what you mean when you said that it should directionally be, in spirit, the whole thing.

There have been dozens of examples over the company's long history, but the most recent may be the most scandalous: A shady firm of "political consultants" secretly harvested data belonging to as many as 87 million Facebook users without their knowledge, and then used that data to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Wylie has said that AggregateIQ received payment from a pro-Brexit campaign group before the 2016 referendum when Britain voted to quit the European Union.

Meanwhile, Facebook has revealed a new figure for the number of users whose data was improperly shared by Cambridge Analytica.

Germany: Van plows into crowd causing several deaths
Photographs of the scene posted on social media show strewn tables and chairs. "The danger is over", the police spokeswoman said . The incident took place at the square surrounding the Kiepenkerl statue, a city landmark that commemorates a traveling peddler.

Disappointed social media users have been spreading #BoycottFacebook, in response to the Facebook and Cambridge Analytica scandal.
